Terms of Service

These terms govern your access to and use of Hisland Reserve. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1.Parties and Service Description

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Hisland AB (“Hisland Reserve”, “we”, “us”). Hisland AB is a company registered in Sweden.

Reserve is a software-as-a-service platform that enables workspace operators (“Space Owners”) to manage shared resources — including conference rooms, desks, parking spaces, and cabins — and allows individuals and organisations (“Users”) to discover and book those resources.

By creating an account or using Reserve in any capacity, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Reserve on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2.Account Registration and Responsibilities

To access most features, you must register for an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notifying us immediately at legal@hisland.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Ensuring all information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have parental consent, to create an account. Accounts may not be shared between individuals.

3.Subscription Plans and Billing

Space Owners subscribe to a paid plan to manage resources on Reserve. Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Polar. Plan details, pricing, and feature limits are published on our pricing page.

By subscribing, you authorise Hisland Reserve (via Polar) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the start of each billing period. Prices are displayed and charged in Swedish Kronor (SEK) or Euros (EUR) depending on your billing region, and include applicable VAT.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for unused portions of a billing period unless required by law.

Price changes. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before changing subscription prices for existing customers.

Guest payments for individual bookings are processed via Klarna. Hisland Reserve acts as a technology intermediary; the booking contract for a specific resource is between the guest and the Space Owner.

4.Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Reserve to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent booking information.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the platform.
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam).
  • Exceed rate limits or otherwise abuse API access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these provisions without prior notice.

5.Intellectual Property

The Reserve platform, including its software, design, logos, and documentation, is owned by Hisland AB and protected by Swedish and international intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership over any part of the platform.

You retain ownership of content you upload to Reserve (such as resource photos). By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to display and process that content solely for the purpose of delivering the service.

6.Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Reserve is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.

To the maximum extent permitted by Swedish law, Hisland AB’s aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of Reserve shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Swedish law.

7.Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

Upon termination, your right to access Reserve ceases immediately. Data deletion will follow the schedule outlined in our Privacy Policy. Clauses that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) shall remain in effect.

8.Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be finally settled by the Stockholm District Court (Stockholms tingsrätt), unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

9.Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days’ notice of material changes via email to registered users. Your continued use of Reserve after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
